Network members Víctor Sadras and Mariano Cossani are collaborating with scientists from FAUBA and INTA on a PICT project.

The project aims to lay the foundations for a system to monitor crop condition and forecast yields. In the short term, it seeks to develop the basis for a real-time monitoring system and to test a prototype. In the medium term, the goal is a crop monitoring system for Argentina based on remote sensing. The work focuses on wheat and soybean in the Pampas region, but the methods will be adaptable to other crops and regions after calibration and evaluation.
